This session aims to get you started with using git for your version control, for your own projects and for use with drupal.org.

We'll start with the basics and then go on to look at how to use branching, rebasing, and merging to work more efficiently.

Have you ever...

been working on a feature or bug, and found another bug, which you can't fix and commit while you're in the middle of work?
worked on several parts of your codebase simultaneously, and had to mess around moving files around so SVN or CVS only sees the parts you want to commit?

A gentle, simple introduction to the theming concepts in Drupal covering the basics:
* Wireframe to custom theme:
- Structuring your page in Drupal-speak
- Templates and files (tpl.php, template.php and .info)
- Theme function overrides
* Using contrib themes and sub-themes
* Theme development tools
* Quick intro to using jQuery (if time available)

All topics will relate to Drupal 7. Attendees must have a good working knowledge of HTML; CSS and PHP knowledge useful.

Storage API is a Drupal 7 framework for enterprise-level file storage and serving / streaming.

It has the following features:

Pluggable architecture - it can be extended to work with any CDN, e.g. Amazon S3, Rackspace.
Redundancy - it can be configured to store your files in multiple CDNs and instantaneously change which one is serving. This means your site will not be brought down by a CDN having problems.
Access control API - can be used for e-commerce.
Deduplication - when files that are identical are stored in the same container, only one instance will be created. This saves bandwidth and storage.
Integration with Drupal core file and image fields.
